September 2024 Newsletter

Family Consultation

Often the hardest part of caregiving is getting your loved one to accept help—from you or from professionals. JFCS’s licensed clinical social workers have extensive experience in working with families to address interpersonal issues, deal with financial concerns, determine future responsibilities, and get everyone working together to develop the plan of care.

Refugee & Immigrant Job Fair

Join Career Services this month at the Refugee & Immigrant Job fair. You will have the opportunity to meet employers in person, network with other job seekers, discuss potential employment opportunities, and share an updated resume.

Join us on Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 10am-2pm at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh (612 Smithfield St, Pittsburgh, PA 15222).

JFCS Youth Services and Pass the Brick Program

We’re truly thankful for our partnership with Pass the Bricks, a phenomenal non-profit that creatively transforms used LEGO bricks into ‘new’ sets for children in underserved communities. Our Youth Services Bridge Builder kids were delighted to receive 13 Beginner Level Sets, a gift that fosters learning and fun. We eagerly anticipate our continued collaboration with them in the future.

You Belong Here: Self Care and Peer Support For Hard Times

Our Bridge Builders kids loved being able to interact with live animals and learn about wildlife and physics with Pittsburgh Community Science Workshop’s Science Bus in July! This is one of the many ways our team has been working to help refugee youth continue to learn and stay active throughout the summer.
