DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend arrives May 3-5, culminating in the event itself on Sunday, beginning at 7:05 am. Team JFCS is running this year and needs your help!
Over 35,000 people will be running through the streets of Pittsburgh on May 5th. Each person has their own story and experiences. Team JFCS will be running to support Pittsburghers through life’s changes and challenges. Together, we’ll raise awareness and support for families who need our help the most.
Register to run with the team! With so many distances to choose from – full marathon, half-marathon, five-person relay, 5K, kids one-mile and pet walk – you’re sure to find the race that’s right for every member of the family!
The Pittsburgh Marathon began in 1984, was suspended from 2004-2008 through the city’s financial woes and loss of sponsorship, and started up again as the Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon in 2009. Historically, the course has wound through the unique and hilly topography of the city, crossing five different bridges and all three rivers of Pittsburgh’s at least once. Numerous Pittsburgh neighborhoods are along the route, including the South Side, Oakland, Shadyside, East Liberty, Highland Park, Bloomfield, Lawrenceville, and the Strip District.
We run as Team JFCS on May 5th! Join Team JFCS because you want to MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Enjoy team camaraderie, a dedicated fundraising page, fundraising support, training advice, running meetups and JFCS running gear! Following weeks of training and fundraising for the JFCS cause, join Team JFCS for a pre-race pasta party, a life changing run through Pittsburgh and a post-race celebration!
