Making a Difference for Refugees and Immigrants

As part of the 10.27 Healing Partnership’s commemoration of the 2018 Pittsburgh synagogue shooting, JFCS sponsored an opportunity on October 27 for volunteers to sort donations and create welcoming letters and posters for new immigrant and refugee families. Additionally, last month, our JFCS Refugee & Immigrant Services volunteer mentors convened to explore new strategies for enhancing support to new families, exchanging valuable knowledge and guidance.

Empowering Teens and Young Adults

JFCS Youth Services prepares youth for future academic and professional endeavors through the 412Futures program, This fall, the staff are supporting juniors and seniors with career planning, SAT preparation, and exploring college major discussions. The high school years can be a time of heightened stress and anxiety about the future.
