World Refugee Day 2019 at Market Square

Please join us in Market Square on Friday, June 21 (11 am – 2 pm)! Performances, crafts and great food provided by members of our refugee and immigrant communities will delight your senses!
Performers include African, Nepali and Greek dance groups, Venezuelan musician, more dance and drumming from the Hill Dance Academy Theater, poet Osama Alomar from Pittsburgh City of Asylum, and more.

Taste treats from Syria, Iraq, Turkey and more.

And listen to the stories of people who have come here from far points in the world seeking peace and prosperity for their children. You really can’t imagine the life of refugees before they arrived here; their stories will open your hearts to our newest neighbors.
