The JFCS staff is creating artwork outside the office!
The following idea comes to us from JFCS Psychotherapist Kelly Moore:
This idea came to me the week it was announced we’d be working from home for at least another month. A month that provides further precautions to our workers and clients for safety reasons. However, it also marks another month in which we continue to work in isolation and apart from one another. So, as I reflected upon this, I thought how can I help our little community feel less of that weight. I thought of that feeling we may get as we come and go from the emptiness of the office for various reasons. For me, it feels dark, lonely, and missing life. An idea jumped into my brain – let’s write messages to each other in chalk on our sidewalk!
Much like other ideas I’ve had, I emailed Dana, Jordan, and Stef the idea, and they each responded with excitement and encouragement. Each time the administration shows their support in these ways, it continues to show me the type of leadership that guides JFCS. They are supportive, caring, and up lifting. We emailed the staff about the idea to encourage staff wide involvement to make their marks on the sidewalk. The idea is to write and draw messages that will make one another smile, laugh, and motivate. Dana has also encouraged the Pantry Staff to chalk up the sidewalk outside their building location as well! The journey at the Bartlett St location for this idea began last week with the first chalking (pictures featured). If you’re in the area, check it out! We hope to make the smiles go around.
Thank you Kelly!
