Last week, Tree Pittsburgh, in partnership with Duquesne Light and the Pittsburgh Pirates, helped the Bridge Builders kids plant trees in Crafton Heights along Crucible Street. The staff from Tree Pittsburgh taught students the importance of planting trees. Then, they showed them how to work together to plant a tree.
The Bridge Builders kids were joined by the Pittsburgh Pirate parrot, as well as Tree Pittsburgh’s squirrel mascot. After the planting, the students were given bags with rose-shaped cookies and dental care items. The rose cookies were provided by Temple David in honor of 10/27 victim Rose Mallinger. The toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss were provided courtesy of Global Links Pittsburgh.
