Congrats to one of our JFCS Career Development Center 412 Futures students, Roshna Bhatterai, who was awarded the James E. Lewis Science Scholarship! Here’s what Roshna (pictured playing soccer, in the middle) had to say about participating in 412 Futures, receiving this award, and looking to the future:
“With 412 Futures, being able work alongside individuals with differing perspectives and opinions definitely assisted me throughout my high school career as I learned the importance of a healthy conversational exchange.
Receiving this scholarship was nothing short of a dream for it has made it easier for me to continue my education beyond high school without stressing about the burden of having to pay for college. In a way, it has also reassured my parents of my capabilities in being able to handle things for myself.
In the fall, I plan on attending The University of Pennsylvania where I will be majoring in English. I also want to continue on the pre-med track and study abroad in a different country during my time there. After college, I hope to attend medical school with the plans of becoming a board certified physician.”
