10/27 – Resources to Support You Through this Time

This season can be especially difficult, as we near the 2nd commemoration of 10/27. These resources can help you connect to the support you need at this time.

Free Trauma Counseling at JFCS

Trauma affects people differently, and recovery is an individual experience. To schedule an appointment with a JFCS trauma therapist, please call our office at 412.422.7200.

If you would like to speak to someone immediately, help is available 24/7 from the Center For Victims Hotline at 1.866.644.2882.

CREATE HOPE

CREATE HOPE gallery
We’ve invited the community to submit artwork, poems, songs, projects, and more to inspire hope and encourage connection in honor of the 2nd commemoration of 10/27 and in light of the difficulties many of us are facing during this pandemic. Check out the gallery or submit your own work to create@jfcspgh.org.

Art & Commemoration workshops
Join us for an art-based support group where we will explore art making to help regulate the nervous system, promote playfulness, imagination, help develop insight, connect us more deeply to our bodies, emotions, thoughts, and world views. In the past 2 years since the synagogue shooting, we have responded with “normal reactions to an abnormal circumstance,” experienced many emotions, and strengthened our resilience in different ways.
Facilitated by Kelly Moore & Angelica Miskanin

Music & Self-Care workshop
