Each year, more and more JF&CS and Squirrel Hill Food Pantry donors are choosing to make their gifts through appreciated stock. By gifting stock, you gain the satisfaction of supporting people in need, while bypassing capital gains taxes and receiving substantial income tax deductions.

Making a Stock Gift is Easy

1. We ask that you or your broker contact JF&CS to inform us of your intention to make a stock gift to JF&CS (or if it is to be designated to the Squirrel Hill Food Pantry). That way, we can monitor the progress of the transaction and acknowledge your gift accurately and appropriately upon its completion. Call or email Laurie Gottlieb at (412) 422-8934, ext 308.

2. Instruct your broker to deliver a specific number of shares of a specific stock to an already established account in the name of Jewish Family and Children's Service at NatCity Investments, Inc. Our account number is 4511-3212. Please be aware that the stock must NOT be sold before it reaches the JF&CS account, as you will incur tax liability on the appreciated amount of the stock if this occurs.

For electronic transfer, you will need the DTC number, 0141, First Clearing Corp.
For paper transfer, you will need to have the physical stock certificates processed for transfer at the bank and mailed certified mail. Call NatCity Investments at 1-800-628-2489 to confirm delivery instructions.
